Ashley Arlen of Wayne State College was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week announced Monday morning by the league office in St. Paul, Minnesota following her play in Saturday night’s 75-46 home rout of Augustana College.  It’s the second straight week and third time this season she has received the honor from the NSIC.

The Wayne State College women's indoor track and field teams competed at two separate meets this weekend as part of the team participated in the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational in Lincoln Friday night and Saturday while a majority of the team compete Saturday at the John Dalton Open at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion in the Dakota Dome.   The Wildcats ended up with two new school records at the two meets with two national provisional qualifying marks and one win.

25^th-ranked Augustana shot a blistering 70.8 percent (17 of 24) in the second half to rally for a 70-54 Northern Sun Conference men’s basketball win at Wayne State College Saturday evening at Rice Auditorium in Wayne.  The Vikings, who trailed WSC 23-20 at halftime, improved to 17-4 overall and 10-4 in the NSIC while the Wildcats slipped to 9-12 on the season and 6-8 in league play.
