Wayne State College Athletics

Wayne State College head women’s soccer coach Molly Grisham today announced that four student-athletes have signed national letters of intent to attend Wayne State College and play soccer for the Wildcats in the 2010 season.  The list includes Macy Hagen of Bellevue, Nebraska, Kayli Hopper of Norfolk, Nebraska, Kelly Lange of Omaha, Nebraska and Ryan Wells of Arlington, Texas.  

Four members of the Wayne State College women's soccer team were named to the Omaha World Herald Nebraska College All-State Women's Soccer team released by the newspaper on Monday, January 11th.  Senior midfielder Valerie Robinson and junior defender Mikayla Comba were named to the First Team while juniors Megan Dias and Emily Walker received honorable mention honors.  The team is selected by coaches from NCAA Division II schools across the state and members of the Omaha World Herald sports department.

Two players from Wayne State College were named to the 2009 Northern Sun Conference Women’s Soccer All-Conference Team announced Wednesday afternoon by the league office in St. Paul, Minnesota.  Senior midfielder Valerie Robinson earned Third Team All-NSIC honors while junior defender Mikayla Comba received honorable mention honors.

   The Wayne State College soccer team lost a 1-0 heartbreaker to Bemidji State Sunday afternoon in Bemidji, Minnesota. The win makes the Beavers 11-6-1 overall and 7-5-1 in the NSIC and the loss makes the Wildcats 4-15-1 overall and 1-11-1 in the NSIC.
