WSC men open cross country season with fourth place finish at Concordia-Seward

The Wayne State College men’s cross country team opened the 2010 season Saturday morning placing fourth at the Concordia University Open held in Seward, Nebraska. The Wildcats finished with 100 points in the team standings, trailing host Concordia University who won the team title with 34 points. Redshirt freshman Garang Lual was the top finisher for Wayne State, finishing 10^th overall on the four-mile course with a time of 21:42.

NSIC preseason poll finds WSC men's cross country team tied for sixth

Wayne State College was voted by league coaches to finish tied for sixth in the 2010 Northern Sun Conference men’s cross country preseason coaches poll released by the league office in Burnsville, Minnesota. The Wildcats and Northern State each received 39 points in voting done by the league’s 10 head coaches that have men’s cross country. Wildcat senior York Thomas was tabbed as Wayne State’s runner to watch in the NSIC this season.

Junior York Thomas was the top finisher for the Wildcats, placing 42nd out of 128 runners

WSC men finish 15th at NCAA DII Central Regional Cross Country Meet

The Wayne State College men’s cross country team placed 15th out of 18 teams at the 2009 NCAA Division II Central Regional Cross Country Championships hosted by Wayne State College and run at the Wayne Country Club Saturday. The Wildcats finished with a team score of 458. Adams State of Colorado won the team title with 20 points and was one of five teams from the Central Region to advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships in Evansville, Indiana on November 21.
