Wayne State Slips Past York College 1-0

            Wayne State slipped past York College 1-0 in a rain soaked game Wednesday afternoon in non-conference women's soccer at the Wayne State College Soccer Complex. The win makes the Wildcats 3-10-1 overall on the season and the loss brings the Panthers overall record to 4-8-1 on the season.

            Junior Tiffani Kellerman scored the game's only goal 21 seconds into the second half, when Kellerman put a header past York College goalkeeper Kaitlin Loney.

            WSC outshot York College 20-8 in the game with 10 of the Wildcats shots on goal and four of the Panthers shots on goal. WSC also held an advantage over York College in corner kicks with 4-1 advantage.

            The Wildcats were led by Tiffani Kellerman who had five shots on goal, with one of the shots being the games only goal. Junior Mikayla Comba also added five shots for WSC in the victory. Junior goalkeeper Emily Walker earned her second shutout of the season having four saves in goal for the Wildcats.

            York College was led by offensively by Maggie Arlt and Bri Rush who each had three shots on the afternoon. Defensively goalkeeper Jordan Veness had six saves for the Panthers in the second half after replacing Kaitlin Loney who had four saves.

            The Wildcats will be on the road this weekend in a pair of NSIC games as WSC travels to Minnesota State Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and then travel to Southwest Minnesota State Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
