The Wayne State College women's basketball team is ranked for the first time this season today, coming in 22nd in the USA Today/ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll released Tuesday afternoon. The Wildcats received a season-high 84 points in voting tabulated by NCAA Division II coaches from across the country.
Wayne State is 26-4 on the season and winners of 15 straight games heading into this weekend's NCAA Division II Central Regional Tournament in Durango, Colorado. The Wildcats are the #2 seed and face #7 seed CSU-Pueblo (20-10) in the opening game of the tournament on Friday at 2:00 p.m. Central Time.
