The Wayne State College softball team travels to Metropolitan State of Denver this weekend (May 21-22) for the NCAA Division II Super Regional with the winner advancing to the NCAA Division II College Softball World Series. The opening game of the best of three series is set for Friday at 12:00 p.m. Mountain Time at Metro State's Auraria Field with game two set for Saturday at 12:00 p.m. Mountain Time. A third, if necessary game, will be played Saturday afternoon.
The 17th-ranked Wildcats have won 16 straight games and are 43-12 overall after going 3-0 last weekend to win the NCAA DII Central Region Bracket #2 Tournament in Wayne. The Roadrunners from Metro State are 49-4 overall and ranked #4 in NCAA Division II after outscoring their opponents 23-2 to easily win the NCAA DII Central Region Bracket #1 Tournament in Colorado Springs last weekend.
