Day 1 Results from NSIC Championships
The Wayne State College men's outdoor track and field is in 10th place with 11 points after the opening day of the Northern Sun Conference Track and Field Championships held in rainy, cold conditions Friday in Moorhead, Minnesota.
Junior distance runner John Kern braved the elements Friday for a third place finish in the 10,000 meter run to earn All-Conference honors with a time of 32:02.97. Teammate York Thomas just missed scoring in the event with a ninth place finish at 32:38.03.
Sophomore Cody Diehl placed fourth in the decathlon with a new school record 6,057 points in the event.
Andrew Jansen was the seventh fastest qualifier in the 400 meter dash (50.76), Lee Anderson qualified for the finals in the 1,500 meter run with the 10th fastest qualifying time of 4:08.35
