Omaha World Herald All-Nebraska NCAA Division II Softball Team
The Wayne State College softball team placed nine players on the 2010 Omaha World Herald All-Nebraska NCAA Division II Softball Team released by the daily newspaper on Friday, July 2.
Senior outfielder
Amy Sandstrom, junior pitcher
Katie Goetzinger, junior catcher Sam Earleywine, junior first baseman
Jennifer Radley and junior second baseman
Blaire Kuhl each were named to the First Team while junior outfielder
Hannah Engelkamp, junior shortstop
Sarah Gottschalk, sophomore third baseman
Brittany Greenwood and freshman designated player
Kassie Nurton each received honorable mention honors.
Wayne State finished the 2010 season going 43-14, a new school record for wins in a season. The Wildcats set a new school record with 16 straight wins at the end of the season, winning the 2010 NSIC Softball Tournament while advancing to the NCAA Division II Tournament for the second straight season. WSC hosted and won the NCAA Division II Central Regional Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals before falling to Metro State in Denver.
