Dr. Robert Benthack

The late Dr. Robert Benthack was a longtime physician in Wayne who provided medical services for the WSC athletic program from 1949-1985. He served as the school's team physician from 1965-1992. Benthack was a trustee of the WSC Foundation and received the College's Distinguished Service Award in 1993. He earned his medical degree from the Nebraska College of Medicine in 1947. In 1949, the Korean War veteran began practicing in Wayne with his father, Dr. Walter Benthack.

Benthack, who passed away March 25, 1994, was inducted into the WSC Athletics Hall of Fame in the fall of 1995.
