Ervin Retzlaff

The late Ervin Retzlaff attended Pierce High School before coming to WSC in 1934. Retzlaff was a fine athlete at WSC from 1934-1938, lettering a dozen times in football, basketball and track. After leaving WSC, Retzlaff worked at the Pierce Film Service and later as a truck driver. He was the owner of Norfolk Maytag and, until his death in 1958, he owned Erv's IGA in Pierce. Retzlaff was also involved in sports outside of WSC, playing semi-pro baseball with the Sioux City Cowboys until he was injured by a pitch in 1938.

Retzlaff was inducted into the WSC Athletics Hall of Fame February 3, 1979.
