Tom Firestack

Tom was one of Wayne State’s most-dominating wrestlers in the late 1960’s. He finished second in the heavyweight division during the 1967-68 season, then captured first place in the NAIA National Meet at the UNO Fieldhouse in 1968-69 with a 19-3 record to earn All-American honors. Following his second place finish in the 1967-68 season, Firestack was one of just 16 NAIA wrestlers invited to the Olympic tryouts at Iowa State University in May, 1968. He also played football at Wayne State during the 1968 season.

Firestack was inducted into the WSC Athletics Hall of Fame on October 16, 2004.
