2008 NSIC Men's Cross Country Results

The Wayne State College men's cross country team earned a third place finish at the Northern Sun Confernce Championships held in Aberdeen, South Dakota Saturday at the Lee Park Golf Course.  The Wildcats scored 108 points to finish third in the 11 team race.  Minnesota State captured the team title with 22 points with Augustana in second at 74 and WSC third with 108 points in the team race.

Senior Nate Preston topped all Wildcat runners by placing third overall with a time of 25:45 on the 8,000-meter course, earning First Team All-NSIC honors by placing in the top 10 individually.  Sophomore York Thomas was next for WSC crossing the line in 16th place overall in a time of 26:44, giving him Second Team All-NSIC honors by placing 11th-20th.  Rounding out the top six runners for Wayne State were Cheto Cerda in 29th place (27:10), John Kern was 31st in 27:13, Matt Schneider took 34th place at 27:22 and Adam Meyer finished 40th in a time of 27:46.

Other WSC finishers included: Matt Seiler, 42nd place at 27:49; Joe Chebul, 56th - 28:27; Jason Schaaf, 65th - 28:48; Michael Schinstock, 66th - 28:49; Lee Anderson, 67th - 28:51 and Nathaniel Bergen, 74th - 29:15.

Wayne State will close out the regular season on Saturday, November 8th at the NCAA Division II Central Regional Championships held in Kearney, Nebraska.
