Wayne State College women's soccer coach Molly Grisham announced today that Kara Naumann (pronounced new-mun) has joined the Wildcat program for the 2009 season. She is the ninth player to commit to the Wildcat women's soccer program for the 2009 season, joining Megan Dias of Riverside, California, Carly Halsey of Pierce, Nebraska, Jessica Lujelusche of Columbus, Nebraska, Hayley Setzer of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Lauren Briscoe of Rochester, Minnesota, Allison Reynolds of Indianola, Iowa, Lydia Myers of Grand Island, Nebraska and Alexandra Baumert of Omaha, Nebraska.
Naumann, a 5-4 defender, was a three-year letter winner at Elkhorn High School, helping the team to three straight State Tournament appearances, including back-to-back Class B state titles in 2007 and 2008. She earned Eastern Midlands Conference honorable mention All-Conference honors this spring as a senior, helping Elkhorn to a 14-6 record a berth in the Nebraska Class A State Girls Soccer Tournament where the Antlers fell to eventual Class A runner-up Millard North in the first round 2-1 in a shootout. Naumann also has seven years of club soccer experience in the summer, competing for teams in Omaha, Elkhorn and Gretna.
Wayne State College is an NCAA Division II school located in Wayne, Nebraska and competes in the 14-team Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
