Reiver Fall Classic Men's Final Results
Wayne State College opened the 2009 fall men's golf schedule with a second place finish at the Reiver Fall Classic hosted by Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The host Reivers shot a 290 team score, six-over-par, to top Wayne State (294) by four shots for the team title. Rounding out the team scoring were Iowa Lakes CC (298), Central CC - Columbus (310), North Iowa Area CC (320) and Iowa Central CC (341).
The Wildcats had three golfers place in the top 10 as junior
Adam Fields shot an even par 71 to finish fifth overall.
Michael Phillips of Mullen tied for seventh with a 73 and
Tyler DeJong came in 10th place with a three-over par 74. Other WSC finishers included sophomore
Tyler Thompson with a 76,
Justin Cunningham shot 78 and
Jake Hirz 79.
The next meet for Wayne State College will be Thursday, September 10th when the Wildcats play in the Dordt College Invite at Sioux Center, Iowa.
