The Wayne State College baseball team is ranked 19th in the Ping!Baseball.com Division II Preseason Top 30 poll released today. It's the second national preseason ranking for the Wildcats this season after being selected 14th in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper NCAA Division II Coaches Poll on December 21st. Wayne State posted a 45-15 record last season and captured a sixth straight Northern Sun Conference regular season title. The Wildcats advanced to NCAA National Tournament for the sixth straight season and seventh time in the last nine years and reached the Central Regional championship game before falling to Mesa State 8-2. Wayne State is slated to open the 2010 season on Saturday, February 13th in Golden, Colorado against Nebraska-Kearney and Colorado School of Mines.
