            Freshmen pitchers Ryan Obrecht and Andrew Staebell held St. Cloud State to five hits and one run to lead Wayne State College in a 4-1 win over the sixth-ranked Huskies in the second game of a Northern Sun Conference baseball doubleheader Wednesday afternoon at Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud, Minnesota.  The host Huskies won the opener 7-4 to split the twinbill and snap Wayne State's 10-game win streak.  WSC is now 20-8 overall and 11-4 in league play while St. Cloud State is 22-6 and 10-4 in NSIC games.
            The opener saw the host Huskies score five of their seven runs on home runs as St. Cloud State held off a late WSC rally for a 7-4 win.
            St. Cloud State scored single runs in the first and second innings to go with a three-run fifth to grab an early 5-0 lead. 
            Wayne State got on the board in the fifth inning as Travis Miller tripled and scored on a Jake Lemar sacrifice fly to right field for a 5-1 score.
            SCSU used a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to take a 7-1 lead, but WSC never gave up and recorded five straight singles in the top of the sixth inning, highlighted by Bryce Bisenius, Andrew Hanson and Miller to get the Wildcats with three at 7-4. 
            But the host Huskies shut down WSC the rest of the way for the 7-4 win.
            Both teams had seven hits in the contest.  Hanson was 2 for 2 with a pair of singles while Miller finished 2 for 3 with a triple, RBI and run scored.  Alex Logelin, Kyle Thompson and Bisenius each singled.
            Sophomore starter Aaron Ras (2-2) suffered the loss on the hill, allowing five runs on five hits in four innings of work with two strikeouts and two walks.  Grant Carl and Ryan Petersen each worked one inning of relief.
            The second game saw freshman starter Ryan Obrecht fire five innings of no-hit ball and seven scoreless innings to lead the Wildcats in a 4-1 win to earn a split of the doubleheader.
            The 'Cats scored a pair of runs in the second inning as Miller was hit by a pitch and scored on a Garrett Graveline RBI single followed by a CJ Neumann run-scoring single that brought home Peyton Barnes (single) for a 2-0 WSC lead.
            WSC grabbed a 3-0 lead in the sixth when Alex Logelin (single) scored on a fielder's choice by Miller.
            Wayne State went in front 4-0 in the top of the eighth inning as Logelin singled and crossed home plate on a bases loaded walk to Hanson.
            St. Cloud State avoided the shutout in the bottom of the eighth inning with a pair of doubles to make the score 4-1.  Freshman reliever Andrew Staebell then came in for Obrecht and recorded the final four outs to preserve the 4-1 win.
            Wayne State outhit SCSU 8-5 with Logelin going 2 for 5 with two runs scored.  Thompson went 2 for 3 with a double and single while Barnes, Graveline, Neumann and Jake Lorenzini each singled.
            Obrecht improved to 4-0 with the win, throwing 7 2/3 innings of stellar ball.  He had a no-hitter through five innings and did not allow a run until the bottom of the eighth, giving up just four hits with four strikeouts and one walk.  Staebell closed the game firing the final 1 1/3 innings, allowing one hit with one strikeout.
