Five players scored in double figures and Wayne State made 31 of 40 free throws as the Wildcats cruised past Sacred Heart Puerto Rico 86-46 Friday morning at the Puerto Rico Men's Basketball Clasico in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
           After trading baskets in the first two minutes of the game, WSC went on an 11-0 run over a span of two minutes to take a 13-4 lead.
           Sacred Heart Puerto Rico got as close as three at 13-10 with 13:27 to play in the half.
           Wayne State then scored the next 17 points over the next 4:57 to take a commanding 30-10 advantage and finished the first half with a sizeable 46-23 lead at intermission.Â
           The 'Cats held Sacred Heart to just 27 percent shooting (8-29) in the opening half while WSC made 13 of 30 shots for 43 percent and sank 18 of 22 free throws.
           Wayne State maintained their advantage throughout the second half and 14 players saw action as the 'Cats outscored Sacred Heart 40-23 in the second half to finish with a 86-46 win.

David Harmon led a balanced scoring attack for the Wildcats with 14 points each. Junior

JJ Ferrin accounted for 11 points apiece with freshman forward
Wade Voss adding 10 points.
           Wayne State made 24 of 56 shots for 42.9 percent including 7 for 22 behind the arc. The 'Cats sank 31 of 40 free throws for 77 percent in the win.
           Jose Vargas scored 12 points to lead Sacred Heart Puerto Rico with Eric Navarro also reaching double figures with 10.
           Sacred Heart shot 29 percent from the field making 16 of 55 shots, going 7 of 29 from 3-point range and 7 for 16 at the free throw stripe.
           WSC held a 47-26 advantage in rebounding thanks to 12 boards from
Elijah Watson. Millender and
Jay Saunders each handed out four assists while Deveaux recorded three steals.
           Wayne State is in action again Saturday morning at the Puerto Rico Clasico in San Juan facing Puerto Rico Rio Piedras at 8 a.m. Central Time.
