Carsyn Boswell scored a game-high 21 points in her Wildcat debut to lead Wayne State College in a 99-49 women's college basketball victory to open the season Friday evening at Rice Auditorium in Wayne.
           The Wildcats never trailed in the contest as WSC built an 18-8 lead with 4:17 to play in the opening quarter before finishing with a 32-12 lead after one quarter.
           WSC made 13 of 23 shots in the opening quarter with Boswell, a transfer from Idaho State, scoring nine points in the opening stanza.
           The 'Cats continued their torrid scoring in the second quarter and hit 50 points with 2:04 left before halftime on a
Rachel Dahlen basket as Wayne State closed the half with a 54-21 lead.Â
Delaney Clark hit a pair of 3-pointers and had six points in the quarter to lead WSC.
           The third quarter saw the Wildcats hold a 22-10 scoring advantage to take a 76-31 lead. Boswell poured in seven points in the quarter as WSC made 9 of 19 shots.
           14 different Wildcats played in the fourth quarter with nine players finding the scorebook as WSC closed the quarter with a 23-18 scoring edge to make the final score 99-49.
           Boswell's 21 points led all scorers, going 9 of 12 from the field and 3 of 4 behind the arc. Clark chipped in 16 points thanks to four 3-pointers. Junior transfer guard

Brooklyn Kruse scored 11 and graduate transfer forward
Britney Ho also hit double figures with 10.
           Wayne State finished the game making 40 of 87 shots that included 9 of 27 behind the arc. The 'Cats were 10 of 19 from the charity stripe.
           McKenna Cone scored 11 points to lead Buena Vista in scoring. The Beavers were 18 of 52 shooting for 34.6 percent and made 1 of 10 3-point shots. BVU was 12 of 16 at the free throw line.
           WSC held a 46-41 edge in rebounding thanks to 23 offensive boards.Â
Meg Rietz and
Kylah vanDonkersgoed each grabbed seven boards for the 'Cats. Heckert handed out seven of Wayne State's 20 assists in the win while
Tate Norblade posted a team-high four steals.Â
           The Wildcats will be at home again Wednesday evening hosting Bellevue University at 6 p.m. in Rice Auditorium.  Â
