#15 Wildcats use efficient attack in sweep at Minot State

            #15 Wayne State used a .421 hitting percentage and three players with double digit kills to lead the Wildcats in a 25-10, 25-16, 25-16 Northern Sun Conference volleyball sweep Saturday afternoon at Minot State.  WSC is now 22-6 and 14-4 in the NSIC while Minot State ends the year at 2-25 and 0-18 in league games.
            The Wildcats hit .483 in the opening set with 16 kills while holding Minot State to a .000 hitting percentage forcing eight errors in a 25-10 set win.
            Sophomore Channatee Robles posted seven kills in the opening set to lead the 'Cats while Chloe Hanel and Laney Kathol were each credited with three blocks.
            WSC used seven service aces in the second set and five more kills from Robles to record a 25-16 victory.
            Kusler and Robles each had two aces while Kusler had four kills.
            The Wildcats took an early 13-4 lead scoring eight straight points in the third set on their way to a 25-16 third set win to complete the sweep.
            Kusler and Taya Beller each had six kills with Brooke Peltz recording two aces.
            Wayne State finished the match with a .421 hitting percentage, the second-highest in league play this season.  The 'Cats had 48 kills and just eight errors on 95 attacks.  Minot State had a .112 hitting percentage with 28 kills.
            Wayne State held a 48-36 advantage in digs, 9-3 in blocks and 9-2 in service aces.
            Robles had 15 kills to lead the Wildcats.  Kusler added 13 and Beller 10.  Sophomore Laney Kathol had six kills on eight attacks with a .750 hitting percentage.
            Peltz and Robles each had 11 digs with Peltz notching a team-high three aces.  Kathol had a team-high five blocks with Hanel and Beller each adding four blocks.
            Freshman setter Molly Romano was credited with 38 set assists.
            Wayne State is guaranteed of hosting a first-round match Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. in the opening round of the NSIC Volleyball Tournament with an opponent to be determined following Saturday's NSIC games.
