Wayne State lost their NSIC road contest against the University of Minnesota Duluth 83-66 this evening. After only trailing by five at the break, UMD would out score the 'Cats 46-34 to get the 17-point win of WSC. Duluth moves to 7-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play while Wayne drops to 7-4 overall and 1-4 in the NSIC.

Matt Noll combined for the first 13 points for the Wildcats giving them at 13-9 lead to open the first half. Minnesota Duluth would take over before
Kai Smith knocked down back-to-back threes to make it 19-19 with 11 minutes remaining.
Both offenses traded the lead back and forth, seeing over a dozen ties and lead changes through the first half alone. UMD closed out the half on a 5-0 to control the lead, 37-32.
Duluth would score on their first possession of the second half and kept it rolling from there. UMD would connect on six three-pointers in the second half on their way to their victory over the Wildcats.
WSC would be unable to slow down the Bulldogs offense as they shot 64% in the second half and 55.2% in the game making 32 of their attempts, 11 of them being threes.
The 'Cats were led in scoring by
Matt Noll with 21 points and four rebounds. Saunders followed with his 11 points and four boards as well.
WSC shot 45.3% from the floor and connected on eight three pointers in the contest. UMD out rebounded WSC 41-20 but the 'Cats had single digit turnovers with eight.
Wayne scored 21 points from 10 Duluth turnovers and had nine steals and five blocks on the defensive end of the floor.
WSC is in action again Thursday evening traveling to the University of Sioux Falls for a 7:30 p.m. NSIC contest.
