PAIR OF SECOND HALF GOALS GIVE WILDCATS A TIE VS. GOLDEN BEARS

            The Wayne State women's soccer team forced a draw against the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears this afternoon in Wayne, Neb. Senior Alyssa Ferin scored the 'Cats first goal at the 75' mark and sophomore Morgan Mancuso scored the tying goal with only three minutes left to play. WSC moves to 4-0-4 over all and 3-0-2 in the NSIC. CSP is now 5-1-2 overall and 2-1-2 in conference play.
            The Golden Bears struck first and early, scoring the first goal on the contest in the first 90 seconds. WSC would be held to only two shots in the first half, taken by Morgan Mancuso and Briella Thompson. Alexa Hofstetter would have a pair of saves in the first half.
            In the second half, CSP would strike early with another goal to take a 2-0 lead with over 40 minutes of play left. The 'Cats would go on the aggressive. With their only corner kick of the match, WSC would find the back of the net thanks to Alyssa Ferin and an assist from Taylor Woods.
            Now within one goal, the Wildcats looked to knot up the score. With only three minutes remaining, Mia Gonzalez saw a cutting Mancuso and was able to feed her a pass that set her up for the tying goal.
            WSC would hold off the Golden Bears last shot attempt and were unable to score the golden goal in the final seconds, as the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
            WSC would finish the match with six shots and two on goal. Hofstetter and Katelyn Miller combined for five saves, Miller with the final two.
 
            The 'Cats will be at home again Sunday afternoon hosting Winona State for Senior Day starting at 1 p.m.
