Wayne State College opened the 2025 women's soccer season Sunday afternoon with a 0-0 tie at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. The host Cardinals are now 0-1-1 while WSC is 0-0-1.
The Wildcats held a sizeable 10-3 advantage in shots during the first half of play, including 3-0 in shots on goal, but the contest was scoreless after one half.
Host William Jewell held an 11-8 edge in shots for the second half with both teams posting four shots on goal but neither side was able to score.
WSC ended the contest with an 18-14 lead in shots while the Cardinals enjoyed a 6-4 edge in corner kicks. The Wildcats were called for 11 fouls with nine on William Jewell.

Molly Riggins each had two shots on goal for WSC while

Briella Thompsen and
Rachel Davis each were credited with shots on goal.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Alexa Hofstetter recorded four saves while posting a shutout in the season opener.
Wayne State will be at home Tuesday afternoon hosting Missouri Western in a 5 p.m. contest at the WSC Soccer Pitch.
