2024 Indoor: Participated at three meets in shot put...threw career-best 34' 7.75" in shot put at SDSU Last Chance Invite (2/16/24)...also posted marks of 33' 7.5" at Concordia Invite (2/9/24) and 33' 6" at Polar Dog Invite (1/19/24)...repeat selection to NSIC All-Academic Team.
2023 Outdoor: Saw action in seven meets competing in the javelin...took 14th in javelin with season-best mark of 99' 4" at Emporia State/Midwest Classic (4/23/23)...finished 13th in javelin at Wildcat Classic (3/25/23) at 86' 6" and was 16th at Central Nebraska Challenge (4/1/23) with mark of 90' 7"...earned NSIC Spring All-Academic Team honors.
2023 Indoor: Competed in shot put in three events...posted career-best mark of 30' 9" at SDSU Last Chance Invite (2/18/23) to place 18th... named NSIC Winter All-Academic Team.
2022 Outdoor: Participated in javelin throw at five meets...recorded season-best mark of 104' 4" to finish 16th at NSIC Outdoor Track and Field Championships (5/14/22)...took sixth at Prairie Wolf Invite in Lincoln (4/28/22) with top throw of 95' 10"...received NSIC Spring All-Academic Team of Excellence honors.
2022 Indoor: Did not compete in any events.
2021 Outdoor: Competed in javelin throw and several middle distance events...had season-best mark of 103' 5" in javelin to place 16th at NSIC Outdoor Championships in Duluth, Minnesota...recorded season-best fifth place finish in javelin with mark of 103' 2" at WSC Challenge (5/1/21)...was 11th in 1,500-meter run at Wildcat Classic (3/27/21) with time of 5:42.33 and top 800-meter time was 2:36.74 at Sioux City Relays (4/16/21).
2021 Indoor: Participated in four meets during indoor season...placed seventh at WSC Wildcat Invite (1/16/21) in the 600-meter run with time of 1:54.57...ran time of 2:36.15 in the 800-meter run at Herschel Neil Invite at Northwest Missouri State (1/30/21) and was 13th in the 1,000-meter run at Bison Invite at North Dakota State (2/5/21) at 3:25.90.
High School: Graduate of Lawrence-Nelson High School...was a multi-sport standout at Lawrence-Nelson High School, starting four years in track and field, three years in volleyball and two in basketball...was a three-year Class D state qualifier in track and field – two years in the 800-meter run and three years in the 4 x 800 meter relay...during her senior season, McCartney was a starter on the Lawrence-Nelson volleyball team that was 31-5 and placed third in Class D2 and also started on the girls basketball team that made the Class D2 state tournament with a 25-2 record...she also excelled in the classroom, earning Academic All-State honors in all three sports and was an All-State honorable mention selection in volleyball and basketball...Annie will join older sister Molly as a member of the Wildcat women’s cross country and track and field teams.
