2014:  Received All-NSIC South Division Second Team Defense honors for a third straight season...played five games and part of a sixth until suffering season-ending knee injury at Concordia-St. Paul (10/11/14)...had 27 tackles with 10.5 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks with two forced fumbles and at least one sack in first five games...was the top sack leader in the NSIC until injury...had seven tackles with 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble vs. Bemidji State (9/6/14)...made five tackles with two sacks for 17 yards vs. Winona State (10/4/14)...had seven solo tackles with two tackles for loss and one sack vs. MSU Moorhead (9/20/14).

2013:  Named NSIC South Division Second Team Defense after recording 58 total tackles to tie for third on the team...recorded team high 11 tackles for loss, four sacks and seven quarterback hurries...recorded nine tackles with two sacks and three tackles for loss at Northern State (9-7-13)...also had nine tackles and two hurries vs. Mary (9-14-13)...credited with four tackles and 1.5 sacks at Minnesota Crookston (9-21-13).

2012: Started all 11 games at defensive end for Wayne State during the season...ranked sixth on the team in tackles with 42 (25 solo, 17 assisted) and was third on the team in tackles for loss with 10 for 20 yards...had one sack for four yards and five quarterback hurries on the year...was named to the NSIC South Division Second Team Defense...had a season high eight tackles (six solo, two assisted) with a tackle for loss for four yards vs. St. Cloud State on 9-22-2012...had a season high 2.5 tackles for loss for five yards vs. Minot State on 9-8-2012.

2011: Appeared in four games for the Wildcats as a backup defensive lineman during the season...had seven tackles with four solo and three assisted...recorded two tackles for loss, one sack, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble...had three solo tackles and two assisted with one tackle for loss, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble on 9/1/11 vs. Nebraska-Kearney.

2010: Redshirted

High School: Graduate of Boyden-Hull Rock Valley High School in Hull, Iowa...Van Den Top was a two year starter and letter winner in football helping Boyden-Hull Rock Valley to a 13-1 record and a runner-up finish in Iowa Class 2A as a senior...earned First Team All-State honors from the Des Moines Register, Iowa Newspaper Association and Sioux City Journal to go with All-Northwest Iowa and All-District honors...also started in basketball and was a four year starter on the golf team.
