2010 Outdoor: Competed in two events at NSIC Championships, finishing 18th in the 1,500 meter run (4:19.13) and 23rd in the 800 meter run (2:05.63)...ran season-best time of 4:08.21 in 1,500 meter run at Nebraska Invite on 4-10-10 and 2:01.06 in 800 meter run at the Hastings College Last Chance Meet on 4-24-10.

2010 Indoor: Ran leg on fifth place distance medley relay team at the NSIC Indoor Championships...just missed placing in the 1000 meter run, finishing ninth in 2:35.40...ran season best time of 2:33.82 in the 1000 meter run at the Nebraska Tuneup open on 2-19-10...had season best time of 2:00.79 to finish eighth in 800 meter run at Mankato State Open on 1-30-10...ran leg on new school record 4 x one mile relay team with time of 18:22.32 on 2/13/10 at the Wildcat Open...selected to the NSIC Winter All Academic Team.

2009 Outdoor: Did not compete

2009 Indoor: Scored points in two events at the NSIC Indoor Championships in Bemidji, placing third in the 800 meter run (1:57.71) and sixth in the one mile run (4:32.01)...won the 1,000 meter run (2:40.70) and the one mile run (4:25.90) at the Wildcat Open in Wayne on 2-14-09...ran season-bests of 1:57.09 in the 800 meter run at Minnesota State Open on 1-31-09 and 4:23.62 in the one mile run at the Nebraska Tuneup Open in Lincoln on 2-20-09.

2008 Outdoor: Competed in three events at the NSIC Outdoor Championships in Wayne, taking sixth in the 1,500 meter run (4:06.03) and finishing 10th in the 800 meter run at 1:59.89...also ran leg on second place 4 x 800 meter relay team (7:47.80) at the NSIC meet...had season-best time of 1:57.81 in the 800 meter run at Azusa Pacific Invite in California on 4-18-08.

2008 Indoor: Placed third in the 800 meter run in a time of 1:59.18 at the NSIC Indoor Championships in Bemidji, Minnesota...also ran leg on first place distance medley relay team at NSIC Championships with time of 10:23.19...ran season-best time of 1:58.15 in the 800 meter run at the Bill Hillenbrand USD Open on 1-19-08...had season-best time of 2:34.27 in the 1,000 meter run at Iowa State Open in Ames on 1-25-08 to place 10th.

Before Wayne State: Cheto Cerda was an Academic All-American at Garden City Community College in Kansas and placed 84th at the National Junior College Cross Country Meet in 2006 with a time of 26:36...in high school, Cerda was a four-year letter winner in cross country and track and field at Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, Texas.
