Biography

2011 Indoor: Injuries limited Diehl competing in just four meets for the Wildcats in 2011 indoor season...competed in multi-events, including the pole vault, high jump and shot put...tied for fourth in pole vault at Dordt College Invite clearing 13' 7 1/4".

2010 Outdoor: Set new school record in decathlon with 6,057 points and a fourth place finish at the NSIC Decathlon on 4-26-10...also ran leg on fifth place 4 x 100 meter relay team at NSIC Championships...also threw javelin at several meets and had top mark of 149' 10" at Vance Butler/Augustana Invite on 4-1-10 for a fourth place finish.

2010 Indoor: Scored points in two events at NSIC Championships, placing fifth in the pole vault (15' 6 1/4") and was seventh in the heptathlon with 4,443 points...was named NSIC Men's Field Athlete of the Week on 2-2-10 after setting new school record with 4,723 points and a second place finish in the heptathlon at the Mankato State Open on 1-30-10...won pole vault at Wildcat Open on 2-13-10 with season best mark of 15' 9".

2009 Outdoor: Placed seventh in the pole vault clearing 14' 7 1/4" at the NSIC Championships in Wayne on May 8-9...competed in the NSIC Decathlon and placed 10th with 5,378 points...scored season-high 5,572 points in decathlon at Division II Challenge in Emporia, Kansas on April 9-10...cleared season-high 15' 0" in the pole vault to place second at Mount Marty Open on March 29...ran leg on first place 4 x 100 meter relay team at Sioux City Relays on April 18 with time of 43.00 seconds.

2009 Indoor: Scored points in two events at the NSIC Indoor Championships in Bemidji, placing sixth in the indoor heptathlon with 4,302 points and was tied for seventh in the pole vault at 15' 1/4"...cleared season-best 15' 2 1/4" at the Nebraska Tuneup Open in Lincoln on 2-20-09...took first in the heptathlon at the UNK Pre-Holiday Open on 12-12-08 with 4,196 points competing in heptathlon for the first time ever.

Personal: Graduate of Grand Island Northwest High School...son of Jay and Marilyn Diehl...born on March 24, 1988...majoring in industrial technology education.
