Biography
2011 Outdoor: Ran in the 1,500 meter and one mile runs during the outdoor season...had season best time of 4:18.05 in the 1,500 meter run at the Sioux City Relays on 4-16-11...top time in the one mile run was 4:51.36 to finish eigth at the Wildcat Classic on 4-26-11.
2011 Indoor: Competed in middle distance events during freshman indoor season...was 10th in the one mile run at the NSIC Championships with time of 4:32.02...had top time of 4:25.47 in the one mile run at the UNL Tuneup Open on 2-18-11...top time in 800 meter run was 2:04.38 for first place finish at Wildcat Open on 1-22-11.
High School: Graduate of Millard West High School...was a two year letterwinner in track and field and a four year letterwinner in cross country...was a three-time state track qualifier...as a senior, ran in the 1,600 meter run in Class A and was 11th in time of 4:42.35...qualified for two events as a junior and placed third in the Class A 1,600 meter run at 4:26.07 along with being a 3,200 meter run qualifier.
Personal: Son of Kevin and Kathy Poots...born on May 14, 1992...majoring in psychology at WSC.
