Devon Johns is in his second season (2025-26) as a strength and conditioning coaching assistant at Wayne State. He will serve as the department's lead assistant and will work with Wildcat baseball, softball, women's basketball while assisting with WSC football.
Prior to Wayne State, Johns served two years at Concordia-St. Paul where he was a graduate assistant strength coach while earning his master's degree in leadership management.
Johns earned his bachelor's degree from Western Kentucky University where he served as a strength intern with Hilltopper football and in the private sector also worked at D1 Sports Training.
Johns is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and recently became Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association. He is also First Aid/CPR certified by the American Red Cross.
A native of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Johns resides in Wayne.
