Wayne State College head women's soccer coach Molly Grisham today announced that Heather Feltes of Lincoln, Nebraska has signed a national letter of intent to attend Wayne State College and play soccer for the Wildcats in the 2010 season. Feltes is the seventh member of the 2010 recruiting class, joining Audrey Asplund of New Castle, Colorado, Macy Hagen of Bellevue, Nebraska, Kayli Hopper of Norfolk, Nebraska, Kelly Lange of Omaha, Nebraska, Norma Volkmer of Lincoln, Nebraska and Ryan Wells of Arlington, Texas as members of the 2010 Wildcat women's soccer recruiting class.
Heather Feltes is a 5-4 defender from Lincoln Pius X High School where she is a three year starter and letter winner. Last spring, she helped Pius X HS reach the Class B girls semi-finals while earning honorable mention All-State honors the last two seasons. She also excels in the classroom, earning Academic All-State honors each year in high school while also being a National Honor Society member from 2007-10.
“I am so excited that Heather will be joining our team in the fall,” commented Coach Grisham. “She is the kind of student-athlete we want in our program. Heather is a very consistent and competitive player and she adds much needed depth to our back line. She has a great personality and made a very positive impression on everyone at Wayne State College.”
Grisham expects to sign several more players in the upcoming weeks of the 2010 signing period.
Wayne State College is an NCAA Division II school located in Wayne, Nebraska and competes in the 14-team Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The Wildcats finished the 2009 season with a record of 4-15-1 overall and 1-11-1 in the Northern Sun Conference.
