Wayne State College head women's soccer coach Molly Grisham announced today that Alexa Romek of Arvada, Colorado has signed a letter of intent to attend Wayne State College and play soccer for the Wildcats in the 2010 season. The signing increases the size of the 2010 Wildcat recruiting class to 10 members, joining Audrey Asplund of New Castle, Colorado, Heather Feltes of Lincoln, Nebraska, Macy Hagen of Bellevue, Nebraska, Kayli Hopper of Norfolk, Nebraska, Elizabeth Israelsen of Smithfield, Utah, Kelly Lange of Omaha, Nebraska, Darian Mochizuki of Kearns, Utah, Norma Volkmer of Lincoln, Nebraska and Ryan Wells of Arlington, Texas.
Alexa Romek is a 5'6 midfielder from Ralston Valley High School in Arvada, Colorado. She is a three year starter and four year letter winner that has helped Ralston Valley High School qualify for the Class 4A/5A Colorado State Playoffs the last four seasons.
“I am very excited to add another Colorado player to our roster,” said Grisham. “Alexa will be a great addition to our central midfield. Her ability to hold on to and distribute the ball will be a great asset in our system. We certainly needed more depth in our central midfield and Alexa is exactly the kind of player we wanted to fill that role.”
