Wayne Country Club

        The Wayne Country Club is home to the Wayne State College women's golf team.  The course, a par-72 6,384 yard layout from the blue tees, has hosted numerous collegiate and Nebraska Golf Association events over the years and is located right next to the Wayne State College campus (north side).  The 11th hole, a 390-yard par-4, was chosen by the Nebraska Golf Association as one of the 18 most challenging holes in the state. 

            The Wayne Country Club opened in 1947 on the north side of Wayne with the course expanding to 18 holes following the purchase of extra land (south side of 21st Street) in 1968.  In 2018, the Wayne Country Club completed a $518,000 new clubhouse that seats approximately 200 people for golf outings and events in the Wayne area.Â
