WSC Soccer Field

Located east of Memorial Stadium/Bob Cunningham Field, the Wayne State College Soccer Pitch made its debut in the fall of 1997, just in time for the inaugural Wildcat soccer season.  Prior to becoming the varsity venue, the field was used an an athletic practice facility and an intramural playing field.

As part of the $4.5 million renovation to Memorial Stadium and Rice Auditorium in 2009, the WSC women's soccer team had their own locker room constructed in Memorial Stadium.  The new locker room included custom-built wooden lockers made by Wayne-based Heritage Industries along with showers.

During the spring and summer of 2013, the Wayne State College Soccer Complex underwent major renovations that were part of the $1.5 million athletic improvement project.  Improvements to the soccer field included a new scoreboard, fencing and widened playing surface.

The latest improvement to the WSC Soccer Pitch came in the summer of 2022 when field turf was installed, the first of several phases on the WSC Athletics Recreation and Student Wellness addition and renovation project.Â
