Wayne State suffered a 3-0 road loss at the University of North Dakota in women's soccer played Sunday afternoon in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The Wildcats fell to 0-2 on the season while UND moved to 2-0 with the win.
The host Fighting Sioux scored in the 34th minute to grab a 1-0 lead at the intermission, then added insurance goals in the 71st and 76th minutes for the 3-0 win. North Dakota had a 14-6 advantage in shots over the Wildcats, including an 8-6 edge in shots on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Rachel Fuchs made five saves while allowing three goals in the loss for Wayne State.
The Wildcats return to action next weekend at the Northwest Missouri State Tournament in Maryville, Missouri. WSC meets St. Cloud State Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and challenges Northwest Missouri State on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
