Matt Schneider of Wayne State College has been selected to the USTFCCCA (U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) All-Academic Team released last week (July 8). To qualify for the honor, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met the NCAA Division II Indoor or Outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their respective event.
Schneider, a senior from Nebraska City, earned NCAA Division II All-American honors in May by placing fourth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a new school record time of 9:05.82. He was the first outdoor track and field All-American for WSC since James McGown in 1998.
