Wayne State women's soccer notches 2-0 road win at MSU Moorhead

senior Tiffani Kellerman scored a goal for the third straight match to help lead the Wildcats in a 2-0 win at MSU Moorhead in Northern Sun Conference women's soccer Saturday afternoon. Junior Liz Israelsen also added a goal for Wayne State in the victory. The win makes the Wildcats 6-5-4 overall and 2-4-4 in the NSIC and the loss drops the Dragons to 1-12-1 overall and 1-8-1 in the league.

            The Wildcats got on the board at the 17:19 mark of the first half when Kellerman scored her third goal of the season with an assist from Megan Dias. The Wayne State offensive applied pressure in the first half taking four shots on goalkeeper Alison Wanner.

            Wayne State added another goal early in the second half when Liz Israelsen scored her fifth goal of the season at the 47:22 mark of the match. The Wildcats stayed aggressive in half adding five shots the stanza. The Wayne State defense was also superb allowing the Dragons only one shot in the second half to take the 2-0 win.

            Wayne State outshot the Dragons 10-4 in the match. Wayne State was led by Kellerman and Israelsen with a goal apiece. Israelsen led the Wildcats with three shots on goal. Megan Dias added an assist in the match to go along with four shots. Senior Emily Walker turned away three shots to earn the shutout for WSC.

            Wayne State will conclude their Northern Sun Conference road trip with a Sunday afternoon 1:00 p.m. contest at Minnesota, Crookston.
