WSC women's soccer suffers second straight OT loss, 1-0 at Bemidji State

            The Wayne State College women's soccer team dropped a second straight overtime game on the road Sunday afternoon as the Wildcats suffered a 1-0 loss at Bemidji State after falling 1-0 in overtime Saturday at Minnesota Duluth.  Bemidji State's Mary O'Brien scored off a corner kick 6:29 into the first overtime to give the Beavers the win, improving BSU to 6-6-2 overall and 5-3-2 in the NSIC while Wayne State falls to 3-9-2 and 0-8-1 in league play.

            Wayne State held a 7-6 edge in shots in the first half while Bemidji State outshot the Wildcats 14-8 in the second half and overtime to hold a 20-15 advantage in total shots over Wayne State.  BSU finished with 11 shots on goal to Wayne State's four and held a 3-1 edge over WSC in corner kicks. 

            Senior Liz Israelsen led Wayne State with five shots while freshman midfielder Mallory Hoyt had three shots with two on goal.  Sophomore goalkeeper Ryan Wells suffered another hard luck loss for the Wildcats despite recording 10 saves in the contest.                                          

            Wayne State returns home for a pair of Northern Sun Conference contests next weekend hosting Minnesota, Crookston Saturday and MSU Moorhead Sunday.  Saturday's contest vs. Minnesota, Crookston has been moved up to 11:00 am while Sunday's contest will start at 1:00 p.m.
