7/11/2011 10:19:00 AM

Wayne State College and Wayne Radio Works LLC, owner of KTCH-AM 1590 and KCTY-FM 104.9 in Wayne have jointly announced that the Wayne radio stations will originate Wayne State football along with men's and women's basketball for the upcoming 2011-12 school year.

“We are delighted to have reached an agreement with our local station to carry Wildcat athletics for 2011-12 and what we hope will be many years to come,” commented WSC Athletics Director Eric Schoh.  “I see this as a great thing for the Wildcats, the radio station and the Wayne community.”

Wayne Radio Works LLC President David Kelly said, “I'm thrilled at the prospect of originating the full season of games as the Wildcat Sports Network.”

KTCH/KCTY Sports Director Bill Seifert will serve as “Voice of the Wildcats” this season, starting with the Nebraska-Kearney at Wayne State football game on Thursday, September 1 at 6:00 p.m.  Wildcat football games this season will be carried on KTCH-AM 1590 while basketball games will be aired on both KTCH-AM 1590 and KCTY-FM 104.9 throughout the season.

“Bill Seifert is a guy who has been around northeast Nebraska a long time and understands Wayne State College and the Wildcats,” added Schoh.  “We're excited to have him as the “Voice of the Wildcats.”
