Wayne State Women's Soccer falls 2-0 at Northern State

            Wayne State's women's soccer team was unable to get in the win column on the season as they fell to Northern State 2-0 in Aberdeen, South Dakota Sunday afternoon. The Wildcats are now 0-6 overall and 0-3 in the NSIC while the Wolves improve to 2-3-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the conference.
            Northern State's first goal of the game came at the 26 minute mark when Brittany Madrigal found Rachel Goslinga for her first goal of the game and her fourth goal on the season giving NSU the 1-0 advantage. Goslinga would bolster the lead to 2-0 as she would find the back of the net once again for her second goal of the game at the 66 minute mark when she stole the ball and drilled it home from 15 yards out.
            Wayne State was outshot 14-12 in the contest and Northern State held the advantage in corner kicks 4-2 while WSC edged NSU in saves 7-1. Wayne State was led by McKenna Adams as she took five shots in the game with one on goal. Kelly Voigt and Jordan Hobza each recorded two shots for the Wildcats on the afternoon while Kara Naumann, Mallory Hoyt and Josie Brown each took one shot.
Goslinga was aggressive all game for the Wolves as she took nine shots with seven on goal and two goals scored and five NSU players each notched one shot. Kourtney Woracek got the win at goalie for the Wolves recording one save in the contest and Courtney True suffered the loss for WSC as she notched seven saves and allowed two goals.
            The Wildcats will be on the road again next weekend, visiting Bemidji State Saturday and Minnesota, Crookston Sunday in Northern Sun Conference contests beginning at 1 p.m. each day.
