Cori Hobbs lifted #10 Wayne State College to a 3-0 sweep over MSU Moorhead Friday evening in Northern Sun Conference volleyball played at Nemzek Hall in Moorhead, Minnesota. Scores of the match were 25-18, 25-21 and 25-20. Wayne State is now 12-2 on the season with the win and 4-2 in the NSIC while MSU Moorhead drops to 10-4 and 3-3 in league play.
The first set saw WSC jump out to an early 9-3 lead. MSUM pulled within one point at 15-14, but WSC scored the next four points and took a 19-14 lead and went on to win the first set 25-18 despite making eight attack errors.
The Wildcats never trailed in the second set, taking a 6-2 lead while never letting the Dragons get closer than three points the rest of the set as WSC won 25-21.
Wayne State had to play from behind in the third set as the 'Cats trailed 12-8 and 16-13 before making a rally. With the score tied at 20-20, WSC used a MSU Moorhead attack error, kills from
Cori Hobbs and
Katie Beiermann and back to back service aces from Hughes to close out the set with a 25-20 win.
Wayne State outhit MSU Moorhead in the match .217-.143 with the 'Cats recording 40 kills and 15 attack errors while MSU Moorhead had 34 kills and 18 attack errors. The Wildcats had 57 digs in the contest and held a 6-4 edge in blocks over MSU Moorhead.

Cori Hobbs notched her ninth double-double of the season for the Wildcats with 12 kills and 14 digs while sophomore
Katie Hughes accounted for her third double-double of the year with 11 kills, 16 digs and four service aces in the win.
Courtney VanGroningen recorded 16 digs while setter
Leisa McClintock handed out 37 set assists.
Wayne State will be on the road again Saturday evening visiting Northern State in a 7 p.m. contest at Aberdeen, South Dakota.
