Box Score #12 Minnesota State 6 Wayne State 0 #12 Minnesota State scored five first half goals on their way to a 6-0 Northern Sun Conference women's soccer win over Wayne State College Saturday afternoon at the WSC Soccer Pitch. The Wildcats fall to 1-9-3 and 1-8-1 in the NSIC while the Mavericks move to 11-1-1 and 9-0-1 in league games.
The visiting Mavericks wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, producing a goal 2:20 into the contest. MSU added goals in the 30
th, 36
th and 40
th minutes and scored again with just 22 second left before halftime for a 5-0 lead at intermission.
WSC held Minnesota State scoreless in the second half until the Mavericks found the back of the net with just under 10 minutes to play making the final score 6-0.
Minnesota State held an 18-8 edge in shots on the Wildcats, including 7-0 in the second half. The Mavericks had one more corner kick than the Wildcats, 3-2, while WSC was called for 12 fouls to 10 on MSU.
