Widlcats battle #22 Minot State before falling 1-0 in double overtime

            Wayne State College battled #22 Minot State until the host Beavers scored a goal at the 6:01 mark of the second overtime for a 1-0 Northern Sun Conference women's soccer win over the Wildcats Sunday afternoon at Herb Parker Stadium in Minot, North Dakota.  Minot State is now 12-3-1 overall and 10-2-1 in the NSIC while WSC falls to 3-10-3 on the season and 3-9-3 in league play.
            Despite being out-shot 14-0 in by Minot State, the Wildcats kept the game scoreless in regulation to force overtime. 
            Wayne State got off the lone shot of the first overtime for its only shot of the contest by freshman Christina Stasi as Minot State goalkeeper Celene Johnson recorded the save to send the contest to a second overtime.
            In the second overtime, Minot State got off four shots with the final one being a goal by Ninfa Ramirez at the 6:01 mark to give the Beavers a 1-0 victory.
            Minot State finished the contest with an 18-1 advantage in shots over WSC including 9-1 in shots on goal.  The host Beavers were called offside three times and were called for one more foul than WSC, 11-10.
            Christina Stasi had Wayne State's lone shot of the contest while junior goalkeeper Kylie Comba made eight saves while allowing just one goal in the hard-luck loss.
            Wayne State will play its final home game of the season Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. hosting the University of Sioux Falls at the WSC Soccer Pitch.
