Suenly Galvez to give Wayne State College a 1-0 Northern Sun Conference women's soccer win Saturday afternoon over Minnesota Crookston at the WSC Soccer Pitch. It was the first win for Wildcat head coach
Bruce Erickson, improving WSC to 1-5-3 overall and 1-4-1 in the NSIC, while UMC drops to 2-6-1 and 2-4 in league play.
Despite the visiting Golden Eagles getting three corner kicks in the first seven minutes of the contest, Wayne State scored the lone goal of the contest on their first corner kick of the game as Galvez booted the ball into the box where Stasi headed in a shot for a goal at the 9:04 mark of the contest.
It turned out to be the lone goal of the game. WSC held a 15-7 advantage in shots over UMC while the Golden Eagles had an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks. WSC was called for seven fouls to just three on Minnesota Crookston.
Stasi's goal was her second of the season to lead the Wildcats offensively. She also recorded a team-high four shots with two on goal while
Brooke Buzzell added three shots with two on goal.

The Wildcats will close out a four game home stand Sunday afternoon hosting Bemidji State in a 1 p.m. contest at the WSC Soccer Pitch.
