Natalie St. Martin produced the game's lone goal at the 25:17 mark of the first half with an assist from Laura Edgren.
UMD held a slight 6-5 edge in shots in the first half over the Wildcats and 8-3 in the second half for a 14-8 advantage in the game, including 10-6 in shots on goal.
Minnesota Duluth held an 8-4 advantage in corner kicks on WSC while UMD was called for five fouls to just two on the Wildcats.
