NSIC All-Conference Football Release Wayne State College landed four players on the 2015 NSIC All-Conference Football Team announced Wednesday afternoon by the league office in Burnsville, Minnesota and voted on by league coaches. Senior running back
Ryan Ludlow and junior offensive lineman
Shane Finley each received NSIC South Division First Team offense honors while seniors
Jon Davis and
Taylor Jensen were both named NSIC South Division honorable mention.
Ludlow, a 6-1, 215 pound senior running back from Plattsmouth, was named NSIC South Division First Team as one of the top running backs in the NSIC this season. He led Wayne State offensively with 1,039 yards rushing on 230 carries (4.5 avg.) with seven touchdowns. Ludlow ranked third overall in the NSIC in rushing yards per game (94.5) and was seventh in the league in all-purpose yards per game with 106.3. In NSIC South Division games, he was third in the league with 91.4 yards per contest and was eighth in all-purpose yards per game at 99.1. Ludlow had five games this season with over 100 yards, highlighted by a season-high 171 yards on 32 carries with three TD's at Winona State on October 31
st. He also became the eighth different player in school history to rush for 1,000 yards in a single season.
Finley, a 6-5, 280 pound junior from Omaha (Roncalli Catholic HS), received NSIC South Division First Team honors this season at right tackle after earning Second Team honors last year as a sophomore. He started all 11 games for the Wildcats this season at right tackle and is a two-year starter on the Wildcat offensive line.
Davis, a 6-0, 180 pound senior defensive back from Webster City, Iowa (Webster City HS), earned NSIC South Division honorable mention honors for the Wildcats this season after leading the team in tackles with 95. Overall, he tied for eighth in the NSIC this season averaging 8.6 tackles per game and tied for fourth in the league with two forced fumbles. In NSIC South Division games, Davis tied for second in the league averaging 9.4 tackles per game. He finished this season with 95 total tackles (63 solo) with five pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one interception and one fumble recovery.
Jensen, a 6-3, 285 pound senior from Emerson (South Sioux City HS), was an NSIC South Division honorable mention selection after receiving NSIC South Division Second Team honors last season. He was a four year starter at right guard for the Wildcats, starting all but one of his 44 games played in a Wayne State uniform.
Wayne State College finished the 2015 season with a record of 4-7 overall and 1-6 in the NSIC South Division.
