            Wayne State junior leftfielder extended his home run streak to four straight games while starters Eric Browning and Matt Schulz picked up wins for the Wildcats as Wayne State posted a 10-2 and 10-7 sweep over Northern State in Northern Sun Conference baseball played Saturday afternoon at the Pete Chapman Baseball Complex in Wayne.  WSC moves to 10-8 on the season and 5-1 in the NSIC while NSU drops to 7-10 overall and 1-5 in league play.
            The Wildcats produced 15 hits in the opener as six different players had two hits or more in the 10-2 win.
            Junior starting pitcher Eric Browning fanned seven batters in six innings of work to pick up his first win of the season. 
            Ackerman paced Wayne State offensively going 3 for 4 with two runs scored and a solo homer.  Michael Herman doubled twice, going 2 for 4 with two RBI and two runs scored.  Curtis Bussard, Albert Johnson, Kevin Andersen and Zak Leighton each added two hits in the win.
            The second game saw Northern State outhit WSC 16-11, but the Wildcats took advantage of six Wolve errors along with five walks to grab a 10-7 win in the nightcap.
            Ackerman launched a three-run bomb in the sixth inning, homering in his fourth straight game and fifth in the last six contests for the Wildcats.  He finished the second game going 2 for 5 with three RBI and two runs scored.
            Albert Johnson was 3 for 5 with two RBI while Herman collected 2 hits in five at bats for the Wildcats.
            Schulz earned the win and improved to 2-0 on the season, working the first five innings.  She allow eight hits and three runs while walking two and striking out two.
            Wayne State and Northern State will play another doubleheader on Sunday at noon to close out the four-game NSIC series at the Pete Chapman Baseball Complex.
