            Wayne State completed a four-game sweep of Northern State in Northern Sun Conference baseball Sunday afternoon at the Pete Chapman Baseball Complex in Wayne with 5-2 and 12-7 wins over the Wolves.  The Wildcats have now won six straight and eight of their last nine overall, improving to 12-8 and 7-1 in the NSIC.  NSU is now 7-12 and 1-7 in league play.
            The first game saw Nate Ackerman homer for the fifth straight game while senior starter Mike Frericks worked six strong innings to earn the win as the Wildcats won the opener 5-2.
            WSC had 11 hits compared to seven for Northern State.  Curtis Bussard was 3 for 4 from the leadoff position with a double.  Ackerman was 1 for 3 with three RBI's and a two-run homer in the third inning.  Junior catcher Kevin Andersen went 2 for 3 while Chris May doubled.
            Frericks improved to 3-0 on the season, charged with two unearned runs over six innings on seven hits with four strikeouts and one walk.  Ryan Zweck pitched a perfect seventh inning to notch his second save of the season.
            The second game saw WSC erase an early 4-0 deficit as the Wildcats pounded out a season-high 18 hits to record a 12-7 win.  It was the fifth straight game that WSC had at least 10 hits, all Wildcat wins.
            Four different Wildcat players had three hits in the win.  John Roberts was 3 for 5 with four RBI, including a three-run homer in the seventh inning.  Michael Herman was 3 for 5 with two RBI and two runs scored, Andersen was 3 for 4 while Chris May finished 3 for 5 with two runs scored.
            Senior starter Dylan McGill pitched five innings to get the win and improve to 4-0 on the season.  He gave up five runs on seven hits with five strikeouts.  Five Wildcat relievers worked the final four innings for Wayne State.
            Wayne State will be at home again Tuesday afternoon, hosting Concordia-St. Paul in an NSIC doubleheader starting at 1:30 p.m. at the Pete Chapman Baseball Complex in Wayne.
