Box Score Wayne State 1 Northwest Missouri State 1 (2 OT)

           Wayne State and Northwest Missouri State battled to a 1-1 double overtime tie in the season opener for the Wildcat women's soccer team Thursday afternoon at the WSC Soccer Pitch in hot, humid conditions. 
            The Wildcats opened the scoring in the 13^th minute when freshman midfielder Carys Hund scored on an assist by senior forward Josie Brown to put the 'Cats in front 1-0.
            Northwest Missouri State evened the score just past the midway point of the first half as Jessica Breyfogle found the back of the net on a ball from Anna Holden to make the score 1-1.
            Wayne State held a slight 17-15 edge in shots while NMSU had a 12-4 advantage in corner kicks. 
            Senior Josie Brown paced Wayne State with seven shots (three on goal) while recording an assist.  Carys Hund followed with three shots (two on goal) including the Wildcat goal. 
            Junior goalkeeper Kylie Comba was credited with eight saves in the contest.
            Wayne State will be at home again Sunday afternoon hosting Northwestern Oklahoma State in a 1 p.m. contest.
