#2 Concordia-St. Paul used a .367 attack percentage to take down #8 Wayne State College 25-13, 25-18, 29-27 in Northern Sun Conference volleyball played Saturday afternoon at Rice Auditorium in Wayne. The Golden Bears are now 16-1 and 8-1 in the NSIC while WSC drops to 14-4 and 5-4 in league play.
The Golden Bears jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first set and never let WSC get closer than four points to control the opener 25-13.
CSP used 15 kills in the second set and slowly pulled away for a 25-18 win over the 'Cats.
The third set was much closer featuring 10 ties and three lead changes. With WSC leading 10-9, the visiting Golden Bears scored five of the next six points to take the lead for good at 14-11 forcing a Wildcat timeout.
WSC trailed 23-20, but battled back to tie the score four times with the final tie coming at 27-27 on a
Michaela Mestl kill. But CSP used a kill and a Wildcat ball handling error to close out the set with a 29-27 win.
Concordia-St. Paul hit .367 in the match with 47 kills, 11 errors and 98 attempts while WSC hit .137 with 34 kills, 18 errors and 117 attacks. The Golden Bears held a 59-38 advantage in digs and 7-5 in blocks on the Wildcats.

Michaela Mestl led WSC with 14 kills followed by
Erin Gross with seven. Sophomore setter
Megan Gebhardt led the 'Cats in digs (nine) and blocks (three) while handing out 32 assists.
The Wildcats will be on the road next weekend, visiting #7 Winona State Friday night at 7 p.m. and Upper Iowa Saturday in a 4 p.m. contest.
