The Wayne State College baseball team opens the 2016 season this weekend visiting Newman University in Wichita, Kansas for doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday starting at noon each day.
            This will be the first time the Wildcats have been outside all season while the Jets opened the season last weekend going 1-2 at Southwestern Oklahoma State.
            Wayne State was picked to finish sixth in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll released January 20th after finishing last season 27-24 overall and fifth place in the NSIC with a 22-14 league mark.
