th minute for the lone goal of the game to give Wayne State College a 1-0 Northern Sun Conference women's soccer victory Saturday afternoon over the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. The win moves WSC to 4-0-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the NSIC while the host Marauders drop to 0-2-1 and 0-1-0 in league play.
The first half was scoreless despite Mary hold an 11-3 advantage in shots over the Wildcats.
Wayne State got on the board midway through the second half when freshman
Madison Burgard found the back of the net on a header with an assist from
Suenly Galvez for the lone goal of the contest, giving the Wildcats the victory.
Mary held a 14-9 edge in shots over the Wildcats, including 7-3 in shots on goal. The Marauders had a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks over the Wildcats while WSC was called for 11 fouls to seven on Mary.
Burgard notched her first career goal to lead the Wildcats.

Lauren Fleming each had two shots for the Wildcats. Senior goalkeeper
Kylie Comba was credited with five saves in the win while notching her third shutout of the season.
The Wildcats will conclude their NSIC road trip Sunday afternoon with a 1 p.m. game at Minot State.
